About Me
	My name is Samantha Larson, and I am an eighteen year old from Long Beach, California. Last spring, I graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School, and now I have deferred enrollment at Stanford University for one year to train and climb Mt. Everest in the spring of 2007. My father, Dr. David Larson, and I have climbed six of the “seven summits”, the highest mountain on each of the continents. If we successfully reach the summit of Mt. Everest, the remaining and most difficult of the seven summits, I believe we will be the first father-daughter pair to climb them together, and I will be the youngest person to reach this goal.
Besides climbing, I am very involved in music and dance. I have played the oboe for seven years, and was a member of the All-Southern Honor Band and the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra.  I have also danced for many years, and was on the Long Beach Poly dance team. I plan to continue dancing as part of my training regimen this year.
